Everything here is decided by one date

Not the price — the date you plan to be standing at Vietnamese immigration. Everything else follows from it: which tier makes sense, when the application has to go in, and whether there is room to be relaxed about any of it.

Filing happens on working days only, never on holidays or weekends, and no later than two days before the date you need. That one sentence is what turns a $45 job into a $110 one for someone who writes on a Friday afternoon about a Monday flight. So the first thing we ask is not what you want to pay. It is when you land.

The two fields that quietly ruin applications

The first is the entry point. The application asks for a specific border crossing, and it has to be one where e-visas are accepted. A mistake here does not surface when you file — it surfaces at the border, where the visa exists but cannot be used at that particular gate. This is why we ask how you are arriving rather than which airport you like: flying in, coming by bus from Laos, crossing from Cambodia.

The second is the start date. The visa runs 90 days from the date written into the form — not from the day it is issued, not from the day you land. Set it too early and you burn days before arriving; set it too late and you arrive without a visa.

Neither field is difficult. Both are unforgiving, and both are ours to get right.

Why hand it over at all

Because of the payment, mostly. The portal at evisa.gov.vn rejects Russian cards outright and turns away plenty of other foreign ones. The form is complete, the documents are attached, and the fee simply cannot be paid — so the application never leaves. We pay it with a card the portal accepts, and that step disappears from your side.

Then there is the cost of being wrong. A refusal is not a do-over: it is lost days and another government fee, and booked flights rarely leave room for a second attempt.

Doing it yourself is a perfectly good route if you have a card that works, a week of slack and the willingness to own the form — the government fee is the same $25 either way. We are for the other situation: nothing to pay with, no time, no room to get it wrong. Around 8,000 visas have gone through us, so the strange edge cases are ones we have already met.

The guarantee, and where it stops

The express tiers — $100, $110 and $120 — carry a guarantee: the visa is issued or you get a 100% refund. There are no exclusions attached to it.

Standard $45 processing carries no such guarantee, because the timing there belongs to the queue on the portal rather than to us. We will not promise a speed we do not control. That difference is said out loud before you pay, not printed small afterwards.

Once a visa is issued, there is exactly one real reason to be refused entry: being on the Vietnamese immigration blacklist. We do not invent other hidden grounds.

If a border trip is coming anyway

Then pricing the visa on its own is the wrong sum. When you are already in Vietnam and the current stay is running out, the road and the visa belong in one number — that is a visa run from Da Nang, and the 3–4 hour tier is what lets the visa arrive on the day you travel.
