The part nobody warns you about
If you live in Da Nang, the run itself is not the hard part — you can reach Lao Bao on a public bus and come back, and plenty of people do. What catches expats out is everything around the crossing.
English is thin at the checkpoint, and the windows are not worked through in the order that looks logical from outside — a first-timer routinely loses an hour and a half because nobody says where to go next. Bus times and border opening hours drift, so leaving with a margin still ends in a night in a border town if you land in a break. And if your passport needs a Lao visa, the border office is the worst place to find that out.
The expensive mistake is quieter. On a 90-day e-visa application the entry point is a field you fill in yourself, and the wrong one produces a visa that is perfectly valid and simply unusable at Lao Bao.
That is where we come in: we fill the application, pay the government fee with a card the portal accepts, set Lao Bao as the entry point, and hand you written instructions before departure. From your side, a date and a photo of your passport page.

The final number depends on your dates, where you are now and which border you cross — we count it in chat, before you pay anything.
What you pay outside the fare
At the border you pay 140,000 VND in cash per person, exact change for passport fees — that goes to the officer, not to us. Meals from our partner kitchen are 1,050,000 VND for the business set or 1,100,000 VND for premium, against the standard 850,000 VND fare on the bus; orders close at 18:00 the day before. A Lao visa is the third item, if your passport needs one.
Stamp or visa, and when neither is the answer
A rough rule. Staying another month or two and no Vietnamese bank card on your list — the stamp run is cheaper. Plans past three months, or you want the card — the 90-day visa is calmer: the next trip is three months away and the passport collects fewer stamps.
Two cases where you should not book at all. If you are not in Vietnam yet, there is no border to cross — the visa is arranged before you fly. And if your stay still has a month left, going early costs you days: a run does not extend what you have, the new count starts the day you re-enter.

Trips that include a new 90-day e-visa carry a straightforward promise: the result, or a 100% refund. No conditions, no exclusions — if it does not work out, the money goes back. We pay the visa fees upfront on our own card, so that risk is ours.
Stamp runs are not covered, and I am not going to pretend otherwise: there the length of your stay is decided by the officer at the window, not by our work.
Nobody is turned away at our end. Entry is refused for one reason only — being on the Vietnamese immigration blacklist. There is no other hidden list and we are not going to invent one.
